What To Wear To The Parks
Posted on December 20, 2025 • 2 min read • 358 wordsSummary:
- Wear comfortable, breathable clothes. Always wear supportive shoes and bags
- Always have your rain gear/sun gear
- Pack a sweater/jacket in the winter time - it can get chilly
- If you forget your layers/rain and sun gear, you can buy them at the parks
Like any major trip, you want to dress the part for the activities you’ll be doing. A Disney World day includes lots of walking, movement, and being outside. It’s important to dress yourself accordingly so you can be comfortable and focus on enjoying your day.

Clothing
I recommend wearing something that is comfortable and breathable when you visit the parks. I personally like to wear athletic/exercise clothing since that helps me stay cool and is comfortable. For me, that is leggings/shorts and some sort of exercise top, think Lululemon or Athleta vibes for a visual.
Shoes
Additionally, you’ll be taking at least 15,000 steps each day so wearing comfortable walking shoes is a must. Keep the cute sandals at home; unless you have comfortable waterproof ones. I have worn my Teva sandals to the parks before for rainy days, and those have worked well.
Bag
Check out my What’s in My Park Bag post for more information on the type of bag I recommend using on your trip.
Weather-Appropriate Gear
The weather in Florida follows a pattern; it is mostly sunny and warm throughout the year. Exceptions to that include:
- Heavy rain in the summer
- Temperatures can dip in the winter time, especially at night. I have personally experienced it get into the 30’s Fahrenheit in the winter
Pack accordingly by bringing rain, sun and cold weather protection as applicable. A rain jacket/poncho and some waterproof shoes/shoe covers works well for the rainy days. I personally prefer a poncho over a rain jacket because it covers your entire body include your backpack. Make sure to bring a hat and sunglasses to help with the sun, and a sweater/jacket for the cold winter nights. If you forget any of these items, Disney does have them available for purchase, albeit for a cost premium.
